Welcome to 'Van Eyck's Tales of England', an online class face to face with the founder of Team Recorder, Sarah Jeffery!
Join me to explore baroque composer Jacob van Eyck's compositions based on English music - Pavane Lachrymae, the English Nightingale, and more. Not only will we hear about the history of this music, we will dive deep into the technique needed to play these challenging yet satisfying pieces. Finger agility, double tonguing, ornamentation - and practice techniques to make sure you feel confident approaching it at home too.
There will be lots of time for questions too. Can't wait to see you there!

Duration? 90 minutes
Where? On Zoom. You will receive a link to the Zoom class as the date approaches.
Level? Flexible: for intermediate+. We will be diving into the technique needed to play this music, which is intermediate-advanced. However, you are welcome to watch the class even if you can't play all of the notes!
Which size of recorder? Soprano or tenor, at modern pitch.
What if I miss the class? Don't worry! You will have access to a video of the class for 2 months afterwards.
Accessibility? The class with be given in English, with automatic captions. The video registration of the class will have captions too. A transcript will be available afterwards. The accompanying PDF handout will be available in text-only and audio description upon request.
